I've Got Mail

YAY! My acceptance letter from CityU has arrived. Holding this envelope in hand and reading the documents inside has made me realize how real this trip is and how fast it is approaching.

I was not exaggerating when I said this letter really was a reality check for me. After recieving this I had realized that I still have a lot of things to do, such as:
  1. Insurance
  2. Flight
  3. Housing
  4. Banking!!
  5. Proper shots
  6. Medication
Above all, banking is the hugest road block I've hit so far in my pre-departure preparation. A down side to the paradise we live in is that Hawaii does not have any international banks. Finding a bank that will give decent exchange rates, low ATM fees, and low surcharge fees is little to none. If I were from the mainland, opening a Bank of America account or Charles Schwab would be the best choices for me because they have plenty of ATMs overseas and/or reimburse all ATMs fees. Thus far I've found Credit Unions to be the best bet for me and will probably be pursing one of them.

Other important things I need to do is CLEAN MY ROOM, quality time with friends & family, wrap things up with PSE, and obtain a power of attorney. Since I will be gone for one year, versus the regular one semester I feel it is very crucial for me make sure I take care of all these little details before I get on a plane and leave.

About two and a half more months till I'm off! Feeling excited, scared, nervous, and anxious all at the same time!!
